I lift up my eyes to the hills:  Where does my strength come from?
My help comes from the LORD, maker of Heaven and Earth.
He will not allow your foot to slip;
He who keeps you will not slumber.   Psalms 121  1-4

The poor and imprisoned... Still semi locked down with the pandemic, many of us have enjoyed a "quiet time" opportunity that is welcomed and can be quite beneficial.  Here at the Christ for Humanity office, we have been investing time in a wonderful Bible study.  The study is focused on the needs of the poor and more specifically the imprisoned, and the ways that we can minister to them in these difficult times.  Truly, there is ample need for believers to be actively involved in the lives of these individuals.  Fortunately, there ARE ways to reach them if we're willing to look.  We are focusing on supporting and sending ministers into this particular field, just as we would send ministers overseas.  Please pray for those in prison that God will work in their hearts so that they will ultimately find salvation.  Your generous gifts support this important effort, so thank you for being a part.

Christmas and Covid... As we all know, this pandemic has hit us hard over the last few months.  What is already a problem for so many poor families, has been amplified beyond what most people can deal with.  In addition to serving people at our office location on 13th & Sheridan, You and Christ for Humanity has been working with local churches to hold food distributions to people as they drive through socially distanced, and safe.  It is wonderful to see the faces of folks that appreciate the assistance, and the hope that is shared concerning the truth of the Gospel.    Thank you everyone for making this happen!

Covid-19... During this difficult time of covid-19, it is a joy to thank our generous donors that have continued to support our efforts.  You have been instrumental in providing food, medical supplies, and more to people in need.  Many have experienced unemployment, sick leave, and financial hardship in numbers that were unimaginable only weeks ago.
Although Tulsa is back to a small degree, there is still an enormous need to continue our efforts.  Please continue to be the reason for successful ministry at Christ for Humanity.
Thank you, and may God bless.

Pack Shack Event . . .    Anyone can have a major impact on their community.  The Pack Shack is an organization that facilitates opportunities for churches, schools, or other groups, to be involved by packing bags of food for the poor.  These bags of food are a wonderful blend of grains and foods that make enough for a family.  Fellowship Bible Church took part in a Pack Shack event and made over 40,000 bags of food in an afternoon.  The fellowship was sweet as dozens of people joined forces to get the job done.  Christ for Humanity was the recipient of 13,000 bags of food.  These will be distributed along with the food that CFH provides to the Tulsa area poor every day.  Thanks to the great folks at Fellowship Bible Church for all you do.

Tulsa prayer walk  . . .    Every city needs prayer, and Tulsa is no exception.  It was wonderful to see so many people giving of themselves to make this prayer walk a great success.   Led by our own Ronda Tyson, nearly 50 people walked through downtown Tulsa and prayed over many of the sights that hold historical and cultural significance.  When not walking, the group was providing service to many spots around the city including Christ for Humanity where they organized 5 shipping containers.  Thank you to all who were involved.

Myanmar  . . .    Your financial gifts have touched the lives of children and adults in Myanmar.  There are many children who will perish because no one has shared the gospel to them.  It is not because they reject the gospel but it is because they have never heard the gospel.  After sharing the gospel, every kid raised their hand to accept Christ.  They had enjoyed singing and listening to the Christmas story.
There is no greater joy than sharing the good news to those who have never heard the gospel.
Many people need you and me in order to hear the gospel and get saved.
Thank you very much for making this possible.

We're going to Jail!  . . .     Tulsa County Jail is now a point of ministry for Christ for Humanity.  As people gather in cell pods, the Gospel of Christ is proclaimed to the downhearted and hurting.   Many inmates voluntarily join in and take part in the sharing, encouragement and testimony of how God is working in their lives.  Hearts are touched with hope.  Lives are redirected with truth.  Worth is restored by the Fathers  love.
You, our supporters are a part of opening the prison doors.  Thank you for making this possible.

Your hands  . . .   Your hands have reached across the globe to touch the hurt and suffering.  Your hands packed and shipped truckloads of medical supplies, medicines, Bibles, water drilling equipment, church building materials, and more.  Your hands contributed to the success of mission work in remote places of the world, and right here at home where the name of Jesus desperately needs to be proclaimed.  Your hand has raised to the opportunity to be a witness to those lost and seeking answers.  Your hands have worked hard here at home, and you have shared your fruits with the world.   I reach my hand to you and say thank you!

The Gospel, best news ever! . . .    Thanks to the wonderful supporters of Christ for Humanity, medical supplies get to people that need it in remote places of the world, wells are drilled where water is desperately needed, Bibles are made available in languages of the people, and more.  But the most wonderful part of the ministry is the sharing of the Gospel with people arriving at our facility with various needs.  Certainly, we meet the basic needs that people come for.  However, people discover that there is a much greater need that is offered to be filled by the time they leave.  Introduction to Christ, encouragement to the believer, and restoration of dignity and self worth as a loved creation of God, can be found here.  Thank you donors, for allowing us to be available to these precious people.

London Square Outreach . . .      A wonderful feature of Christ for Humanity is the partnering with local churches to provide ministry through our Adopt-A-Facility program.  With this program, a local church "adopts" an apartment complex and establishes relationships with the residents, while also providing for the immediate needs with groceries and other needs.   Here, P61 Church in south Tulsa is providing a tremendous ministry for the folks at London Square apartments.  Going beyond inviting people to church, and bringing the church to where people live.

Our Volunteers  . . .    We had a wonderful volunteer summit this week.  It reminded us all of how much we truly appreciate those who poor their lives into helping others, even if they don't get to see who they are helping.  Every piece of medical supplies, equipment, food, clothes, and more are delivered without expectation of anything in return other than the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with the recipient.  Whether in Tulsa or somewhere on the other side of the world, people are receiving these goods with a prayer of blessing attached.   Our volunteers have blessed these unseen individuals as if they had traveled continents to minister them first hand.   Without our volunteers, these things could not be achieved.

My $20.00 can't possibly make a difference.  Right? . . .    Think again.  Because of our relationship with organizations that collect surplus food on a massive scale, along with local churches and groups doing food drives, we are able to acquire and distribute groceries for just pennies on the dollar.  What this means to the hungry is that they can receive several days of food at no cost to them in their time of need.  Best of all, they get to hear the gospel and be encouraged in the process.
What can $20.00 actually do?  It can provide about 36  individual meals. That's just .55 per meal!    Can you provide some groceries for the poor?  Please donate today.   Thank you.

Ethiopia touched  . . .     You can make a difference in the lives of people around the world.   You may not even realize it, but did you know that you were a part of building churches in Ethiopia?  Did you know that hungry people were served there?  Did you know that there are Ethiopian people that will be forever enjoying the presence of Jesus in Heaven?  It is because of the efforts of believers that this is all possible.

The Church pictured above was built because a food distribution event in the village created such an interest in what Christians were doing and the message they were sharing.  Many families were saved and added to the Church in just days.  Further, satellite churches have already sprung from the effort.  Thank you donors for impacting Ethiopia in such a positive way.  The Lord Himself only knows of the multitudes of people that will be saved from this.

Generosity lives on  . . .     Recently, we were blessed by a dear lady with a wonderful giving heart.  She had arranged a generous donation through a trust that would be passed on to the ministry following her departure to Heaven.  This thoughtful gift will go a very long way to insure that Christ for Humanity will continue to be available to share the Gospel with Tulsa's needy, while providing food, clothing, furniture, medical supplies, and also to provide important humanitarian goods which are distributed through missionaries of the Gospel world wide.

Each and every donor to CFH is investing in the spiritual life of individuals that need to be saved.  We are very honored to be entrusted with your financial investment to accomplish this goal.  May God use every resource to his glory, as together we share Christ with humanity.

PictureThis picture says it all. Living a life filled with the joy of Jesus.
Hurting from loss, Rejoicing in victory . . .

It is with the deepest sorrow, mixed with the greatest joy, that we announce the passing of our beloved friend and Founder Mark Rollins.  It is with sorrow, because our hearts are broken knowing that he will be so desperately missed.  It is with joy, because of the action of Jesus that made Mark's salvation a reality.

Although he was always the voice of encouragement and the source of laughter, Mark had very difficult health issues for many years.  Most recently a series of medical challenges which began in December 2016, required him to be hospitalized until February 12, 2017.   His peaceful passing occurred as Sunday morning prayer was being lifted up at many churches, while friends and loved ones asked for God's perfect peace for Mark and his family.  As many were preparing to leave church to go home,  the Lord graciously relieved his suffering and called Mark to his new home.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.   John 14:3 ESV

Christ for Humanity is the dream that began in the heart of Mark & Tina while vacationing in the Copper Mountain area of Mexico.  Being people oriented, Mark & Tina set out to meet the inhabitants they might encounter in remote mountain area.  During their excursion they became aware of a need among the local people.  They had discovered that dental issues were a major problem, and there was no help available.  Mark & Tina immediately responded to God's inspiration and organized a dental mission trip.  From that passionate effort, Christ for Humanity was born.
Today, Christ for Humanity is a monument to the Lord's work in the generous and caring hearts of our Founders.

We are exceedingly blessed end evermore determined to carry on in the same spirit that has touched the lives of thousands of people since its beginning.  May God grant us the ability to accomplish that which He desires for the lost and hurting people within our reach, whether in Tulsa or around the world.

In memory of Mark Rollins, to the praise of our God and Father, and the glory of His son Jesus.

Life Senior Services:    One of the greatest joys of the staff at Christ for Humanity, is the opportunity to share our faith with others.  At Life Senior Services, Camille Wellnitz enjoys the company of precious people who are eagerly soaking in the word of God.  Camille has been teaching at this location for a couple of years, and has been a teacher to many for decades.  The folks at Life Senior Services seem to truly love this time of fellowship.

  Truck status:
We have a truck!   Thank you - to all who had a part in this.  We were blessed with multiple financial gifts, one company discounted the cost of the box, another discounted the cost of the lift, the manufacturer added an incentive bonus, and the Dealer was quite generous with their pricing, amounting to enough to acquire this important vehicle without dept!  God is good!

Published January 16, 2017
We need a truck!  For 17 years, our Isuzu box truck has been a wonderful blessing to the ministry. Unfortunately, it is out of commission and the current repair requirements exceeds it's value by three or four times.  With that said, we are in need of a dependable truck to deliver groceries to the outreaches around Tulsa, and to pick up donations from hospitals and clinics.  We are praying for a donated vehicle or grant money to meet this need.  The replacement cost is about $45,000.00.  Please join us in prayer for donors.  Thank you!

In her own words ...

This is a note from a nice lady that you (as a partner) helped.
I came to Christ for Humanity back in 1996, and was given a ride home to the ORU grad housing.  I came back about a year ago for food and clothing.  This is the nicest ministry I have ever come to.  Everyone is so kind and everything is so clean.  The ladies clothes have no smell or rips & tears.  God always provides what I need.  I really look forward to meeting with Jan and having prayer and getting results.  It is very convenient for me to come here on the bus.  I have referred two friends and they were very blessed.  You are truly Christ love to the forgotten and those in need.  Thank you,     Diane.

A gift ...
It was really a nice thought.  For someone with very limited means to purchase such a thoughtful gift, even from a thrift store, had more meaning than things that could have cost far more.
Accompanied by a kind letter of encouraging appreciation for his new friends at the ministry, was a wonderfully crafted, yet simply designed icon of both suffering and joy.  It was a cross.  The kindness of the gift was not just sweet in the gesture.  Clearly the gifts significance was much bigger.  It symbolized the far greater gift that James had recently received, grace.  It was a living picture of spiritual rejoicing over what his new life in Christ meant to him.  It was a beautiful song from a thankful heart, a heart that was previously broken.
We feel very privileged to have had a part in helping James find his new life, especially since he is now home with the Lord.  You see, James found Christ at Christ for Humanity.

Dear CFH partners, thank you.  You were a part of this.

God will take care of you ...  Yes, you.
When times seem bleak, God hasn't changed.
When pressure rises, God is stable.
When trouble comes, God already had a plan.
When lies surround us, God's truth prevails.
When our dignity is shattered, God reminds us of our worth.
When in doubt, don't panic. God will take care of you!

Who could have known ...
George's story - Who could have known what today held in store?  Who could have predicted that such events were just minutes away?  The day was one like any other.  There was no fanfare, no sense of urgency, no premonition, or even dreams that would provide a clue of what was to come.  The day however, would hold a profound event.
A friend, who lived in the building a couple of floors up, had been a friend and fellow Bible study student at Christ for Humanity for a couple of years.  Conversations with her while passing through the lobby were the norm.  Like an angel on a mission, she seemed to have an uncanny ability to capture the news of the day and turn it into lively commentary, and more importantly, could steer nearly any conversation to words of truth and perfectly timed spiritual encouragement.
A neighbor's Yorkshire pulls against the leash to greet a willing friend to receive some serious belly scratching. He was always a source of affection that brought a measure of calm, and as usual, he did not disappoint today.

But for now, great conversation with Mary and a puppies affection would have to take a back seat. Mary would understand, and puppies don't hold grudges. Tiredness moves in from time to time followed by a surrender to the desire to go back to the apartment for a brief power nap.

. . . .  The elevator opens, only to leave a short distance home.  With a flip of a key the apartment door unlocks and then closes behind.  In a few short steps, the view suddenly changes.   In an instant, there is a new picture that fills the eyes with exploding joy.  It is Jesus!  Face to face in all of His glory!   Life on Earth had ended in a flash, eternal life had come, and Heaven is real.  Thank God for the person who shared the good news of the Gospel.

Although the detailed description of his experience in those few moments could only be created in the imagination of loved ones remaining, the people of this story are quite real.  This is the story of our dear friend George who had been led to Christ for Humanity by the Holy Spirit, not just for food and medical supplies, but so that he could hear the Gospel and find forgiveness and grace through weekly teaching.  We will miss our friend.  Thankfully, we will all rejoice together very soon.

On Georges behalf,  Thank you to all who made these things real in his life.

Giving at Year End ...
As you consider giving at the end of this tax year, please be assured that all that is accomplished, the tons of medical equipment and supplies, the many households of furniture and household goods, and tens of thousands of families that receive groceries, are because of your funding and prayers.  Because you allowed God to speak to your heart and inspire you to share your blessings, lives are touched.  Best of all, the great news of God's love is shared, and eternities are secured.   Thank you for giving.

Hear and believe...  This letter came from one of the CFH Adopt-A-Facility programs.
I had a senior resident, Clarence who did not believe in God. As a child, his father would beat any of the children in the family if they ever asked questions about God, church, or faith so this resident grew up not believing.  Through Christ for Humanity’s food outreach one of the volunteers reached out to Clarence as a friend. He did not talk to him about God in the beginning.  He just would visit with him and find common ground. As time went by the volunteer heard about Clarence’s experience as a child and how he did not believe in God. This naturally led to discussions about God, but still in a way that would not scare Clarence away.  They became very close.
About a year later from the date that the met, Clarence had a massive stroke. He was not able to talk or move, except with his eyes. I went to visit Clarence in the hospital. During the visit that CFH volunteer arrived. He would speak to Clarence in a way that so Clarence could answer back with his eyes. The volunteer told me how Clarence asked God into his life a few weeks before his stroke, which Clarence confirmed this with his eyes. I was thrilled to hear that.
Clarence passed away shortly after his stroke, but we were able to tell his sister how Clarence found God and peace before his stroke. This brought his sister great relief, for she herself was new to accepting Christ as her savior into her life too.
I tell this story to people who are sometimes are struggling with their belief because I think deep down most people do want to believe God, but just do not know how to reach out.     Sharon.

Thankful for you...   This Thanksgiving, we want to acknowledge you, our volunteers, donors, financial supporters, and prayer warriors.  We are very privileged to be a part of your generosity and care.  You make this ministry work.  Your blessings effect lives in a way that will not only meet immediate needs, but will  change the course of someone's spiritual path to eternity.
This Thanksgiving, we thank the Lord for you.

This is the day . . .
Today... was planned long before the heavens and Earth were formed.
Today... an appointment is kept.
Today... a soul will receive the message of love from Heaven's greatest gift, Jesus.
Today... is someone's first hearing of the Savior's call “My child, I am here”.
Today... will be a new birth.
Today... is a good investment!

Congressional recognition . . .  Truly, we do not seek accolades for the things we do at Christ for Humanity.  However, it is a pleasure to receive this Congressional recognition from Congressman Jim Bridenstine and his staff, to the glory of the one who makes it all worthwhile, Jesus.  He has given us a blessing by allowing us to be tools in his hand, as he works through us to impact the lives of the people he loved enough to give His life for.
You, the donors, volunteers and prayer warriors, are the reason this important job is getting done.  Thank you for following God's lead.

Behind the door . . .   I met an elderly lady who had been helped with getting into a section 8 apartment through the Tulsa Housing Authority.  She had called us for groceries as she had none at all, and was home bound so  I brought the groceries to her.  As she opened the door, there was virtually nothing in the apartment but a hollow echo of emptiness, with the exception of a neatly folded in half single sheet on the tiled living-room floor in the corner that she had been using as her bed.  Nothing else.  No pots and pans, no plates or forks, nothing.  She never complained a single word, but gratefully acknowledged God for providing a place for her to be off of the street, and for the groceries that would sustain her for a while.
Your generosity allowed Christ for Humanity to immediately jump in and provided your donated items for her living room, dining room and bedroom, along with your clean bedding and other linens.  You also provided cooking and eating ware through the ministry and she no longer had to heat her food in the can it came in.  She was blessed to the point of joyful tears, as were we.
Serving the Lord is so much fun!   I just wanted to share a piece of that joy with you.    The staff and volunteers at CFH get to see this kind of thing all the time.
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your generosity.
